Dear Friends,



We (Jed and Rebecca) are celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary with a
MUSIC PARTY, and we hope you can join in the frivolity.  If you are reading
this, you are invited along with anyone you care to bring, and feel free to
pass this on to anyone who might be interested.

What kind of music?

Many of our friends are bluegrass musicians, so the core of the
entertainment will be a bluegrass jam with guitars, fiddles, banjos, etc.  But
we hope for a wide variety of entertainment on the periphery as well.  If
you have a talent to share, please do so.  You can perform solo or get
people to play along with you.  Non musical acts are also welcome, for you
magicians, acrobats, Mexican wrestlers, and kabuki actors.



I have no talent.  Why should I come?

The point of the music is to entertain, and we need a healthy
listener-performer ratio so we have people to be entertained.  Don’t worry,
be happy.



7pm?  Why so early?

We want the music to wrap up before midnight for the sake of the neighbors.
So if you want music, please come on the early side.  We expect that by 10
or 11 the party will have degenerated into the usual party scene of people
standing around chatting and getting drunk.



What should I bring?

It’s not necessary to bring anything.  Definitely no gifts, please!  We will
provide some tasty Asian finger food and a moderate amount of alcohol.  Modest
additions to the food and drink supply are welcome but don’t go nuts.  Bring
a musical instrument if you play one.  Also, bring songs!  If you can sing a
song, let us know before hand so we can have the lyrics and guitar chords
available, so you can be accompanied by our fine musicians.  If someone
would like to bring a keyboard that would be great, as we don’t have one.  Let
us know ahead of time so we don’t have five of them.  Songs in impromptu
jam-friendly genres such as classic rock, folk, and country, are especially
useful.



How do I get there?

If you’re driving, I’m sure you can look up the address.  If you’re on
metro, it’s about one mile from White Flint Station.  But there’s no need to
walk!  Call us and we’ll come get you at the station, or we’ll dispatch
another guest to do so.  We guarantee every attendee a ride to and from the
station.
